A COMMUNITY LAND TRUST
1. We will BUILD low-impact well-built, ecologically sensitive houses on small, infill or brownfield sites unsuitable for commercial/for profit development
2. Our good quality, SUSTAINABLE HOUSES will be rented at affordable rates
3. We will KEEP these houses in community ownership
4. Potential tenants of these houses will be involved in their CONSTRUCTION so that SKILLS in the trades are built up
5. We hope to create a community LEARNING HUB around construction skills, where local teenagers can learn, thrive and be supported in their education, in peace.
Growing spaces is a modular, flexible scheme situated on a hill in Watchet, Somerset for the CLT Base for Life. The layout is composed of interchangeable units that can be customised and expanded based in the needs of its occupants, allowing for seamless integration of different spaces as families grow and evolve. The design incorporates dedicated areas to grow produce and support sustainable living, fostering a connection to nature.
With its focus on multi-generational living, the scheme includes accessible units and communal spaces that encourage interaction between all ages, providing a sense of community while also giving occupants privacy.
